South Austin Tamil School (SATS) was founded in 2023 with the support of a multi-lingual grant from the Austin Independent School District (AISD). For the first two years, this grant funded SATS’s Tamil language classes.

When the grant concluded in 2025, SATS became an independent organization. To ensure the continuation of its classes, SATS sought out a compatible partner and subsequently merged with Greater HTS, operating as a distant school under their umbrella. The 2025-26 academic year marks the first time SATS has offered classes as part of HTS.

SATS currently offers classes from Mazhalai (beginner) through Nilai 3 (Level 3), with plans for future expansion. The school currently has a total enrollment of 25 children.
